Bladder Leaks
Leakage of urine is common, but not normal at any age. Whether you have leaks every time you are trying to make it to the bathroom, just with the occasional sneeze, only when you jog or jump, or every time you get home from the store, Miles Pelvic Therapy can help. We have seen hundreds of patients with different types of urinary incontinence and patients typically start seeing results in 1-2 visits. You don’t have to put up with this the rest of your life and spend a fortune on pads, let’s get started!

Body Aches and Pains
Do you have pain in your lower abdomen, groin, hips, and / or low back? Do you have random pangs of pain deep in your pelvis? Is your tailbone sore when you sit too long on a hard chair? Your pelvic floor muscles could be involved in any of these conditions. At Miles Pelvic Therapy we believe no one should suffer, be ignored, or told that “it’s all in your head.” We would love to evaluate you and not only identify if your pelvic floor is involved, but we are also specialized in orthopedics and can help blend your treatment for the best outcomes. Your pelvic floor may be the missing link.

Abdominal Weakness
Do your abs feel weak or do you feel like there is a bulge or divot down the center of your trunk when you flex that area? A “diastasis rectus abdominis (DRA)” is common postpartum or with overuse of one part of your abs. It’s never too late to address weak abs or a DRA. The sooner the better to prevent future back pain or pelvic floor dysfunction.

Did you know that scar tissue can change whether it’s 2 months or 20+ years old? Physical therapy techniques can significantly reduce scar adhesions to increase mobility, increase circulation, improve function and even digestion. If you have had a C-section, episiotomy, hernia, gallbladder, abdominal, back, breast, or hip surgery, come to Miles PT and see gains quickly. The best thing is….once we treat it, it doesn’t come back!

Postpartum Recovery
Going to your 6 week postpartum MD visit doesn’t mean that your body is ready to get back to all of your activities. The journey of carrying a baby for 9 months, vaginal delivery, or C-section causes changes in the pelvic floor and abdominal wall. You may have one or a combination of the conditions already listed above. Having a baby is a big event, possibly the biggest thing your body will ever go through. You are not expected to have all the answers for recovery. A pelvic floor specialist is vital to restoring your body and steering safely back to the activities you love. At Miles Pelvic Therapy, we can guide you on a healthy and healing path

Constipation
Constipation is extremely common, but doesn’t have to be your norm. Whether you are suffering from harder stools, consistent straining, low frequency, or fluctuating from constipation to diarrhea and everything in between, we can assist. Remember, the pelvic floor is the gatekeeper and sometimes we need improved coordination or increased ease of opening those gates. In one visit, we should know if your pelvic floor is part of the issue, but we also have great additional resources such as habit changes, positioning, nutrition, spinal health, and breathing strategies to help as well.

Pelvic Organ Prolapse
You may feel that it feels different in your vaginal area. Almost like there is a bulge, heaviness, or pressure down there that wasn’t there before. When organs shift into a lower position over time, we call this a prolapse. This can feel scary, but it is a very treatable condition with the help of pelvic floor physical therapy. If you know you have a prolapse or you think you might have a prolapse, I can’t stress enough the importance of early intervention. We can help.

Endometriosis often leads to pelvic floor muscle tension, pelvic pain, painful periods, and painful intercourse. Utilize Miles Pelvic Therapy to learn how to manage symptoms, alleviate pain, and improve quality of life. Endometriosis patients should be surrounded by a solid healthcare team and pelvic floor physical therapy should be included on that team.
